How I pronounce my name

You can learn more about my research on this podcast episode from Research to Practice podcast and about my history in literacy research in this webinar about trailblazers in reading research hosted by The Reading League.

Short Bio

I am an Associate Professor at Michigan State University where I conduct research and teach master’s and doctoral courses in Special Education. I received a B.A. in Psychology from Penn State University, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University. Prior to coming to MSU, I was a researcher at the Florida Center for Reading Research where I directed the development of reading and writing screening and diagnostic assessments as well as state-wide professional development to use those assessments to inform differentiated instruction. Prior to that, I was a coach for district-wide positive behavior support and multi-tiered system of supports at the Devereux Center for Effective Schools.

At MSU, I co-lead the Writing/Reading Interventions & Teacher Education (WRITE) lab. I co-developed the master’s degree and certificate in Multi-Tiered System of Supports and teach the survey course and the capstone course in MTSS. I mentor doctoral student research in the Special Education program and the School Psychology program.
